Community Participation Supports

Transitioning Program

The transition from high school to the adult world can be difficult without the proper guidance, direction and support. That's why we offer activities that provide students with real-life, hands-on experiences. We coach them on how to make decisions, solve problems, set goals, make personal choices and become independent young adults. Our Transitioning Program covers things like doing laundry and staying healthy, to developing a resume and paying taxes.

Community Participation Supports Program

Through both facility-based trainings and hands-on exploration, our Community Participation Supports Program is designed to increase an individual's potential to achieve employment in the community. With our unique curriculum, the Practical Assessment Exploration System (PAES), we are able to assess an individual's skill levels, then match them with appropriate jobs in the workforce. Through a complete assessment, on-site training and supervision, we ensure that each individual is equipped with what it takes to succeed in the workplace.

What is PAES?

Designed specifically for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, PAES is an effective job training curriculum.

With PAES, individuals take on the role of employee and develop job skills through hands-on tasks. They punch a time clock to begin their "job," and are responsible for collecting the materials and equipment needed to complete the day's assignment.

Through PAES, individuals learn how to properly complete tasks while also developing an understanding of work ethics, problem solving and dependability.

After completing PAES, individuals are equipped with the skills needed to find a job in the community.
